Summer has been busy at Smarter Weather. The map got a big visual upgrade with true-color satellite imagery, iOS picked up UV index conditions and per-location alerts you can tune to each saved place, and the API moved onto dedicated production infrastructure without a second of downtime. Here's the full rundown.

App

  • GOES true-color satellite layers on the map, with hourly coverage that follows the map as you pan (iOS and web)
  • UV index conditions, including an optional home-screen widget on iOS
  • Per-location weather alerts on iOS: choose alert types for every saved place, or start from a preset and fine-tune
  • Refreshed iOS settings with light/dark/system themes, faster search, and reorderable home-screen widgets
